Office 365 Hybrid Deployment With Exchange 2010 SP2 – Part 3
We have so far signed up for Office 365 trial and have installed ADFS 2.0 on the domain controller in the test lab. Read part one and two of the series here. Office 365 Hybrid Deployment With Exchange 2010 SP2 – Part 2
In this article, we will go through the steps to setup and configure ADFS 2.0. If you have missed the first part, read it here. ADFS is required for single sign-on access to Office 365 services.
ADFS for Office 365 is NOT about enabling the ADFS role from Server Manager. ADFS Version 2 is required for our scenario. Download ADFS v2.0 from here depending on the OS. A dedicated ADFS server is not required for small environments, the recommendation is to have it running on atleast two domain controllers. I will be installing it only on one domain controller as it is a test lab.

Disable Auto Mapping Of Mailboxes In Exchange 2010 SP2
One of the features introduced in Exchange 2010 SP1 which had mixed response was the auto mapping of mailboxes in Outlook, to which the user had full access to. Though it is a good feature, there was no control over it and some admins found it very frustrating, especially the ones that had users with too many shared mailboxes.
Microsoft has listened to the customer feedback and have put a parameter that can control the auto mapping.
Integrate Lync 2010 With Exchange 2010 OWA
I am sure that there are a number of articles explaining the process of integrating Lync 2010 with Exchange 2010 OWA, as Lync has been around for a while. I have started playing with Lync only very recently and hence this is more of a bookmark for me when I am at a customer site.
There are a number of steps to be done, in the proper order to make the integration a success.
Configure Autodiscover Site Scope In Exchange 2010
I was asked today about the steps to configure autodiscover site scope and I was surprised to find out that I hadn’t written about it before. I was thinking of giving a link to the article, but I have to write it first. So, here it goes.
Configuring site scope for autodiscover comes in only if you have multiple sites with clients connecting, say a company which spreads across the country or a global company with branches in many countries. Whatever the scenario is, the intention is to get Outlook 2007+ clients to pick up a local or closest CAS server as the SCP endpoint.
